Re: Why Think Tanks Matter Help Sustain the Message and Momentum

Dear Friends and Colleagues:

On January 30th, more than 145 think tanks, IGOs, NGOs, and civil society organizations hosted the “Why Think Tanks Matter: The Future of Think Tanks and Policy Advice” events in 85 countries and 130 cities, including a program at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) in Washington D.C.

Your can watch the Program at CSIS here:

Prior to the Public Program at CSIS, about 60 think tank presidents and chief executives will be attending a breakfast round table at the Middle East Institute to explore how the role of think tanks and policy advice will be changing in the coming years.

We are pleased to present this year’s annual think tank rankings report so that you can present share with print and electronic media and circulate it during your events around the globe.

Please send program links, press clippings and photos and videos of your Why Think Tank Matter programs after they take place this Thursday, so we can add them to the report. Send them to Sofiya Pavlova at ttcsp.interncoordinator@gmail.com

The hashtag for postings or to support think tanks is:   #ThinkTanksMatter2020

We urge you to continue this global momentum by engaging policymakers and the public in a discussion about the value and importance of think tanks in an era of political and digital disruptions. We welcome your comments and proposals for joint initiatives as we continue to strive to demonstrate to the world that #ThinkTanksMatter2020.

Sincerely, Jim McGann
