Join us virtually for our third Fall webinar
Lessons in reconciliation: justice and truth in Africa
What do African experiences of truth, justice and reconciliation have to teach us about the potential for social healing? What are some solutions to overcoming past conflict, polarization and mistrust?
During our third Lauder Africa Fall seminar series on Friday, November 20th at 2:00pm ET, we will talk with Dr. Bonny Ibhawoh, the Senator William McMaster Chair in Global Human Rights at McMaster University and Director of the Centre for Human Rights and Restorative Justice. Drawing on his experience with human rights in South Africa, Sudan, Sierra Leone and Liberia and expertise on truth commissions, we will discuss how restorative justice — a process that seeks to heal both victim and perpetrator — can address old wounds and give societies new avenues to reckon with their pasts.
