Please register to attend by Friday, April 19 using the button below  / Tickets cannot be guaranteed if registration is submitted after this date /  Note that graduating students can register a maximum of 4 guests.

All Lauder Class of 2024 students are eligible to participate in the graduation ceremony, even those who plan to graduate in August or December 2024.

N.B. Diplomas are not distributed at graduation ceremonies. Graduates will receive their diplomas by mail from the University.

Dear Parents, Families and Friends,

We look forward to celebrating with Lauder graduation this Sunday, May 19. At Graduation, we celebrate your hard work over the last two years and look forward to greeting your families and friends.

I am writing to inform you of security measures being implemented for graduation ceremonies campus wide. In accordance with the University and Wharton graduation event policies, outlined here and here,  the following items are strictly prohibited at our venue:

  • Artificial noisemakers
  • Signs, posters, or flags
  • Sticks or poles, including tripods or selfie sticks
  • Glass bottles, soda cans, and all outside food/beverages
  • Firearms, knives, scissors, needles, razor blades, or weapons of any type
  • Laser pointers
  • Aerosol containers

Registered guests will be provided with wristbands at the registration table, and everyone will be subject to a bag check before entry to the Auditorium, so please do not bring items with you that are not needed for the ceremony. Arrive early to allow additional time for check-in.

Graduating students should be in their seats no later than 4:50 PM, as doors will close promptly at 5:00 PM. If you arrive after 5:00 PM, we cannot guarantee entrance into the auditorium.  A recording of the ceremony to share with family and friends who are unable to join will be made available and posted to our website at https://lauder.wharton.upenn.edu/graduation/ within 48 hours.

KEYNOTE SPEAKER: ALBERTO DURAN (WG’93)

Our Distinguished Speaker for Graduation this year will be Alberto Duran (WG’93), the Founder and Chairman of Mundivox Communications.

Mr. Duran grew up in Brazil and after many years in the United States founded Mundivox Communications in 1999. Mundivox is a private telecommunications company that provides fiber optic network services for the corporate market. Mr. Duran started his career in New York at Andersen Consulting and later worked for Bain and Company and the Monitor Group. He specialized in building M&A strategies for technology companies expanding geographically. Mr. Duran received a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Pontificia Universidade Catolica and an MBA from The Wharton School. From 2010 until 2016, he served as the Chairman of the Wharton Executive Board of Latin America. He is currently a Trustee of the University of Pennsylvania, a member of the Wharton Board of Advisors, and a member of the Lauder Institute’s Board of Governors. Mr. Duran has a long history of philanthropic support. Notably, in 2021, with his wife Inma, he established the Duran Center as an interdisciplinary alliance between the School of Engineering and the School of Medicine at Penn.
