2025 Lauder Africa Futures Symposium to take place April 4-5

Philadelphia, PA – March 6, 2025 – The Lauder Institute’s 2025 Africa Futures Symposium: Navigating Global Uncertainty will take place on April 4-5, 2025, at the Warwick Hotel in Philadelphia, PA. The symposium convenes leaders from business, academia, and government to examine key issues shaping Africa’s future. This year’s theme focuses on opportunities and challenges to strengthen Africa’s resilience amid global instability through critical conversations about data governance, food security, geostrategic industries, global competition, regional alliances, and more.

Symposium Highlights:

  • Day 1 (April 4):  Our Distinguished Leaders Roundtable featuring several former senior U.S. government officials with significant African portfolios, including Ms. Akunna Cook, Mr. Cameron Hudson, and Dr. Witney Schneidman, will discuss U.S.-Africa relations.
  • Day 2 (April 5): Day 2 will feature panel discussions addressing critical aspects of Africa’s economic and political future. Supply Chains & Economic Integration will examine strategies to strengthen intra-African trade and enhance the continent’s role in global supply chains. Financing Transformation will focus on how financial interventions have changed Africa’s economic, political, and social landscape. Building Political Resilience will explore current political challenges and governance frameworks to enhance political stability. Finally, Future Economies of Africa will highlight emerging sectors poised to lead the continent’s economic growth.
