The 2018 Culture Quest offered a challenging and interesting itinerary – teams travelled through three countries Trinidad and Tobago, Suriname and Guyana, which required several modes of transportation. From ferries to buses and taxis to flights, all managed to complete this journey on time. The quest kicked off in Port of Spain with a tour of the House of Angostura Distillery, known for its bitters, the group learned how Angostura produces its many intoxicating liquors, as well as the chance to sample some of their products. After the group tour, the quest started in earnest with the six teams traveling from Trinidad to Suriname and finally crossing the border into Guyana. Despite relaxing the flying rule, this quest was done in the spirit of the original. Teams collect points along the route by crashing a wedding and getting group haircuts in Trinidad, visiting religious sites and touring a farm in Suriname, planting trees and touring the beautiful Kaieteur Falls in Guyana. The quest ended in Georgetown, Guyana, where some students had the opportunity to meet with the First Lady of Guyana, Mrs. Sandra Granger, at the State House in Georgetown.
