To meet the demand for second-language educators who can incorporate business content into sound language education, the Penn Lauder Summer Institute trains educators in curriculum and lesson planning oriented toward professional content and contexts. The Summer Institute offers a hands-on introduction to business language instruction.
The Summer Institute is aimed at second-language educators with little business knowledge. Topics covered include: Approaches to Language Instruction; Business Fundamentals; Teaching Business Language Methodology; Lesson Planning Exercises.

How to Apply:
Participants are required to submit an application and short essay so as to ensure a collaborative and engaging environment.
The fee for the Summer Institute is $450, which covers all program materials as well as breakfast and lunch each day. If you come with a colleague you are eligible to receive 20% off the Institute cost, bringing your total to $360. Please note: if you register with a colleague you will be asked to provide the full name and email of your colleague during your application process.
**There is no fee for faculty sponsored by Santander, but applying through this website is still required. Santander applications are due by April 30, 2015. Accommodation will be provided to Santander applicants at no cost to them.
***Please note that there are scholarships available for non-Santander applicants (K-16 language teachers), and consideration will be based on the optional third essay on the application.
**Santander sponsored applicants must apply by May 5, 2015**
The deadline for all others to apply for the Summer Institute is May 10, 2015.
