The Wharton graduate course on Private Equity in Emerging Markets provides a rigorous review of the critical elements surrounding the identification, screening, due diligence, valuation, deal structure, and governance of private enterprises in emerging economies. The course includes a field trip to the IFC and an on-campus problem-solving colloquium with six participating emerging-market private-equity professionals.

With partial funding from Penn Lauder CIBER, a collection of student research and strategy papers for private equity activity in Africa, China, Eastern Europe, India, Latin America, the Middle East and Southeast Asia has been published and distributed to firms and organizations with activities in these areas.

Private Equity Boot Camp

A spin-off of this course is a two-day Private Equity Boot Camp that is designed to prepare students for internships or careers in private equity firms. Now offered annually, this boot camp provides instruction in hands-on, practical elements of the profession.
